Leigh Bennett, Principal

Leigh is the Principal of Enterprise Innovations, building a niche consultancy with an extensive client list, project achievements and profile since January 2006. Leigh is a former Local Government CEO, has been an educator and a Human Resurces Manager and Consultant and has worked works extensively with government, corporations and small business on people, commercial or project matters. He works comfortably with people at all levels including senior executives, operational managers, staff, politicians and the community.

Enterprise Innovations’ Recent Key Projects

  • Undertaken extensive stakeholder and business consultation, literature review and completed the Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Economic Development Strategy. (2009)
  • Completed feasibilities for property development projects including large scale commercial and tourism related projects. (2009)
  • Completed business assessments and Strategic Business Plans for various Qld regional companies (across construction, property, engineering consulting, tourism, legal) and education institutions. Assessed business needs and written Communication Strategy Plan for a large sugar factory.
  • Completed a Concept Plan and then a major multi-disciplinary planning report for an International Arboretum. (2009)
  • Urangan State High School Cultural and Sporting Complex (2008) - Led a specialist team to undertake a full community needs analysis and consultation and wrote a Feasibility complete with architect’s designs and full financials for a community / school city cultural and sporting space. This is a $14M development.
  • Industry and Business adviser for USQ Fraser Coast Campus. Projects include – devising Concept Plan for Education City; devising and writing the Centre for Economic Development and Enterprise concept.
  • Contributed to the pre-feasibility and the full feasibility, business liaison & strategy for Wide Bay Water Corporation on the $12M ‘Wetside” Water Education Park Project (2006-2008)
  • Paperbark 5 star Resort Master Plan - Led a specialist team to draft a Master Plan complete with architectural designs, market research and financial analysis for a 5 star fishing based resort (2006).
  • Teamed with Regional Breakthroughs (Adelaide based company) to complete the Wide Bay Aviation Investment & Re-Investment Plan for State Development. (2006)
  • Undertook a Feasibility for the creation of a university campus Sustainability Precinct. (2008)
  • Wrote & presented the business case for a private business and Hervey Bay Council consortium for direct Melbourne to Hervey Bay jet air services. (2007). Revised the Plan (2008).  
  • Research, liaised with industry and the UDIA Qld and Fraser Coast offices to draft a Sustainable Development Policy for Wide Bay Water Corporation which is a 5 star framework for encouraging sustainable and innovative urban development. (2008 -2009); Reviewed WBWC’s Water Reuse Strategy (2009)
