Malcolm Cooper

Malcolm Cooper, is Vice President Research & International Cooperation and Professor, Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu, Japan. He has a PhD, University of Birmingham, UK, MA in Geography, Victoria University, New Zealand and a Master of Laws. Malcolm is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.

Malcolm has a wide range of academic, consultancy and project achievements that complement Enterprise Innovations. These include:

  • Adviser to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, redevelopment of Ba Vi National Forest Park, North Vietnam, and establishment of a Minority Group village-based Tourism Development Plan, September, 1996;
  • Adviser, Department of Environment and Heritage, Queensland, on the Fraser Island Backpackers Environmental Impact Survey, March - May, 1998;
  • Consultant, Greening Australia and Heritage and the World Wildlife Fund, on the Teddington Weir Waterworks Reserve Strategic and Fire Management Plans, March - August, 1998;
  • Senior Associate, BRD Australia, Maroochydore QLD 4558, for an Integrated Tourism Training and Accommodation facility, Espirito Santo, Vanuatu, 1997;
  • Consultant, Peoples Republic of China (MOFTEC) on the impact of the General Agreement on Trade in Services on the PRC Tourism Industry, assisted by a $NZ 20,000 grant from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade April - May, 1996.
